Should any member have any questions, queries or issues at any time they can contact the Club Managers. It is club policy that all problems, large or small, be kept out in the open and dealt with quickly.

At each training session, members are expected to…

  • Put all dogs on leads when others are training.

  • Do not play ball near training areas.

  • Treat the equipment with care and consider the safety of others and the dogs at all times.

  • Maintain control over their dogs to avoid interfering with others training.

  • Carry disposal bags and pick up after their dogs and dispose of straight away in the bins provided.

  • Do not make disrespectable comments or gestures about other club member’s dogs and owners.

  • All dogs have strengths and weaknesses and it is a team sport.

Please can members that take photographs and videos please make sure you get permission from the Club Managers and the dog’s handlers before posting on the internet.

Competing:

All members going to competitions must attend a minimum of two weeks training prior to the up and coming competition. Exceptions could be made at the discretion of the team captain.

Team captains decide running orders. You may not be in the same team all the time.

Entries are usually sent in around 6-8 weeks before a tournament, if you wish to compete you MUST be able to commit to that date and entry fees MUST be paid at this time; anybody failing to pay before the entry is sent will not be entered at that tournament. All members that have an e-mail address will receive an e-mail or facebook message when we are notified of a competition schedule coming out. We would ask that a prompt reply is returned stating availability. When you commit to a competition you are expected to attend and not let your fellow team members and club down if this happens disciplinary action will be taken.

Once the running orders have been scheduled and competition fees have been paid the team will not get a refund if the club have to drop out of a tournament due to members letting their team down as we will not take a team with less than five dogs. The club do not get a refund from the organisers. However at the Club Managers discretion exceptions maybe taken into consideration.

Under no circumstances does any member of the club contact other BFA or Kennel Club officials without permission from Club Managers.

All newcomers will start competing within a starter team (provided we have enough starter dogs available); these competitions take place at most summer tournaments and are open to dogs over the age of 12 months, but with less than 200 Flyball points. (Points are not awarded for starter competitions)

Once a dog and handler are ready to move onto sanctioned tournament (dogs must be over 18 months old) they will be placed in one of our sanctioned teams. New dogs or new handlers will usually start in the bottom team regardless of timings; this is essential for dog and handler to learn about competing without too much pressure. When appearing in the ring all team members are expected to wear their kit. It is accepted that in the heat of the moment tempers can flare but members are requested to be courteous to their team members, fellow competitors, judge and ring party at all times.

A dog returning from injury will be put into a 5 dog team and share a place, until proven fit.

All team members must learn every aspect of ring party duties, and participate regularly.

Disciplinary:

This will be dealt with by the Club Managers and team captains who will decide what course of action is to be taken.

Under no circumstances does any member go the captain’s house uninvited.

The club managers will have final say on all decisions in training and competitions.

To participate in training & competitions all members must sign the club rules. Failure to sign will result in you not being allowed to attend training or competitions. All dogs take part in training/tournaments at their own risk, and whilst every care is taken, the club cannot accept responsibility for damage, injury, or loss however caused to dogs, persons or property whilst taking part.

Remember there is no ‘I’ in team!!
